Teacher-of-the-Year Award!
Have you ever wanted to award an exceptional teacher for
his or her devotion to education?
Now is the time to recognize someone who has been a
full-time educator in the HASD for at least two years, and who:
- Has made a significant impact on students and co-workers and demonstrates a helpful, caring, and thoughtful attitude. This person helps to provide a better education for students through their outstanding teaching qualities and devotes time outside of class to give extra help to students who need it.
- Displays Hollidaysburg Area School District values and is an excellent “role model” for students.
- Has made efforts to promote the growth of our school district via participating in seminars, conferences, and workshops.
- Represents our school district by participating and attending activities and events after-school and shows sportsmanship and school spirit.
The nomination forms will be collected and reviewed and the two recipients (an elementary and a secondary teacher) will be determined and awarded a $250 classroom grant from the HASD Foundation for use on educational material or classroom supplies that will enrich the environment for students. In addition, each will receive an engraved “Teacher-of-the-Year” watch from Beerbower’s Jewelers.
Awards will be presented during the graduation ceremonies in June.
The deadline to nominate an outstanding educator is April 30, after this time no nominations will be accepted! Students, parents, community members and HASD employees may recommend a teacher. Nominations will not be accepted from relatives of an employee.
